Snow Valley’s Assistant Instructor training course is for 14 year-olds looking to get their foot in the door with our Snow School and start their journey towards becoming a fully-certified Instructor.
This two-day course teaches the fundamentals of assisting with beginner and novice lessons, on-hill safety and class management principles, and guest service. This program is intended for those who are interested in eventually completing their CSIA/CASI Level 1 certification and seeking future employment as a certified Instructor.
Participants who complete the course will be eligible to apply for an Assistant Instructor Volunteer Position with Snow Valley’s Snow School for the 2024-25 season. This opportunity provides excellent experience, training and development.
Note: completing the Assistant Instructor training course does not guarantee that you will be hired as an Assistant Instructor.
The Assistant Instructor program is a volunteer based program which aims to develop prospective instructors’ skiing/snowboarding abilities and teaching skills. It also introduces Snow Valley’s processes and policies, with the end goal of the participant becoming a successful instructor in future seasons.
This is a training-focused program intended for applicants who are interested in completing their CSIA or CASI Level 1 certification.

To participate in the training course, you must be able to comfortably ski parallel (intermediate terrain), or comfortably link turns on a snowboard (heel to toe, vice versa) on all areas of Snow Valley. For participants who are not Snow Valley Season Passholders, complimentary lift tickets will be available for each day of the course.
