Savvy shoppers can get their 2018-19 Season Pass at 2017-18 prices AND they get to RIDE the rest of THIS season FREE!

But that’s not all…

As long as you have purchased a season pass, you are entitled to all privileges and DISCOUNTS at local shops, ski areas and mountain resorts!  This is possibly the best deal going!  Just ask us!

It all starts February 15, 2018.  They’ll be available online at www.snowvalley.ca and in person at Guest Service during regular business hours.  Either way you’ll have to come down to get your picture taken to put on your pass.  Then you’ll be riding the hills of Snow Valley until March of 2019!

Family Day

February 17 to 19 is Alberta’s Family Day Long Weekend!

Snow valley image

And it couldn’t have come at a better time.  The weather looks to be on track to be a typical February weekend: Saturday a high of -8, Sunday a high of -15 and Monday a high of -14.  Let’s hope it holds true…well, we are a week away.

Snow Valley Family Day will feature a Scavenger Hunt that will give you clues to travel the entire hill – so be sure to pick up your clue sheet at Snow Rider.  We will also bring out our ever popular Obstacle Course down Old Road and set up a fun run race course! We’ll also have FREE Hot Chocolate outdoors, while supplies last!  And watch out for Simon as he makes comes out to wander about Snow Valley.

That’s happening all day Monday, February 19th – Family Day, at Snow Valley Ski Club.

Extreme Cold Warning

How often do you hear that?

Extreme Cold Warning

Never.  More often than not, you’ll get a “Windchill Advisory” or something that most Edmontonians would react with a “Mmm hmmm” or “I guess I’ll wear a toque”.  “Extreme Cold Warning” is rare especially with a lead line of “Multi day episode of very cold wind chills continue”.

If you are outside watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.

In fact, the average high for this time of year is -7C and the average low is -16.  The weather station at Edmonton International Airport recorded -33.5 on Christmas Day and -33.8 on Boxing Day…the coldest December 25th and 26th between 1999 and 2017.  We won’t hit that today….but it’s close!

Extreme Cold Warning, serious stuff.

Here’s the link to the Weather Network’s current conditions.

Santa On The Hill

Santa on the Hill Dec. 24

In need of a well deserved pre-delivery ride, you will be able to see Santa on the hill this Sunday.  Watch for your favourite flying mythical man in red as he rides the lifts and carpets handing out candy canes to all the children.  Santa on The Hill is an annual event that is very close to the story of the Pied Piper: Kids just follow him where ever he goes…just with candy canes instead of music.

I wonder why?  Because it’s fun, of course!

Santa on the hill, this Sunday at Snow Valley Ski Club.

2017-18 SEASON PASS SALE Begins Today!

With a bit of a stutter step, we’re off and running!

Snow Valley Ski Club has kicked off the annual Season Pass Sale, however just not “on line”, at the moment.

Please call 780-434-3991 and make your purchase and book your lesson programs over the phone.  Operators are standing by…seriously!

What’s NEW?

Warm Up To Winter (New Fall Session Format)

All Fall Programs are now three weeks in length beginning in December.  If the last two seasons are any indication, that will be perfect timing.  If the 5 previous opening days before 2015-16 are any indication, we’ll have lots of time to get out there and play before programs begin.  You could also book a private lesson if you can’t wait…

Park Patrol

Park Patrol is for those wanting to learn how to use the terrain park and complete tricks under control and safely.  Available for both skiers and snowboarders it is offered in separate sessions or a full 10 week course running January to mid March.  All sessions are 2 hours long so there’s lots of time to learn and get to know everyone.

55+ Lessons

A full season program running each week at 1:30 pm is tailor-made for those able to get out during the day and get some turns under the direction of a CSIA ro CASI certified instructor.  A great way to meet new friends or get back together with current ones!

365 Family Pass

Focusing on the success of Snow Valley Aerial Park this summer and the ease of a winter season pass to access the lifts, we’ve created something special for the family.  The all new 365 Family Pass.  At just $999.00 plus GST, a family of up to five (under same restrictions as a ski club family season pass) will get access to Snow Valley Ski Club all winter, followed by access to Snow Valley Aerial Park for the entire 2018 season!  Each pass will have unique artwork, individual family member’s photo, and be valid from Opening Day 2017 until the Aerial Park closes in October of 2018.

Any way you look at it, 2017-18 is already shaping up to be a great season and it’s only AUGUST!

Simon the Snow Leopard and Friend

Simon’s looking forward to seeing everyone back on the slopes!
