CSIA LEVEL 1 SKI COURSE

If you are a parallel skier and at least fifteen years old, you may be eligible to register for the Level I Instructor Certification Course.

Every year, Snow Valley holds Level 1 instructor training programs. This course includes:

• An introduction to CSIA skiing and teaching methodology;
• Strategies to develop skiers from beginner to intermediate (parallel) using the skill development method;
• Techniques and strategies for effective assessment and development;
• Personal feedback on ski performance;
• Workshop on customer service.

Nov. 24-26, Dec. 1-3, Dec. 8-10 / 2009
Three hour mornings over nine days, (Tues, Wed, Thurs - 9:30am to 12:30pm)

Over two weekends, 9:00am to 4:00pm daily

January 23, 24, 30, 31 / 2010
Over two weekends, 9:00am to 4:00pm daily

March 13, 14, 20, 21 / 2010

CASI LEVEL 1 SNOWBOARD COURSE

If you are at least 15 years old and can consistently and confidently link turns on intermediate terrain you may be eligible to register for the three-day Level I Instructor Certification Course.

This 3 day course includes:

• Safety - Snowboarder's code of conduct, and Alpine Responsibility Code,
• Class management,
• Lesson planning,
• Principals of Learning,
• Skills Concept,
• Basic Freestyle Maneuvers,
• Teaching Methodology,
• Equipment - Selection & Maintenance,
• Children and Snowboarding,
• CASI organizational structure.
