Community Initiatives Program (C.I.P.)

Snow Valley is committed to promoting wellness through fun, friendly, safe, year-round recreation and sport for the Edmonton community. As an organization keen to supporting the community, Snow Valley realizes that a portion of the community is unable to take part in such opportunities.

Therefore, to meet the needs of such groups, Snow Valley created a program called the Community Initiatives Program (CIP) which has been running for the past ten seasons.

The mission of this program is to provide accredited agencies and organizations that support people in need, with an opportunity for year-round, enriching life experiences. As Snow Valley can provide year-round activities through its campground, lodge, and ski/snowboard hill, these will be used according to the needs of each group.

By partnering with other not-for-profit agencies and charitable organizations, Snow Valley is committed to building and supporting a healthy community and moves toward balancing opportunities for all people.

Through our Community Initiative Program we provide:
- Discounted and complimentary area passes, rentals and group lessons for winter sports
- A venue for fundraising events, meetings and organizational activities at a reduced rate
- Flexible and supportive partnership for volunteerism and experience
- Half-priced rates in the Rainbow Valley Campground mid-April to mid-June and mid-September to mid-October, with the exclusion of all long weekends.

Through winter and summer sport activities, children, youth and their families will enjoy a great outdoor experience and have the opportunity to build upon life skills. Working with these individuals, Snow Valley contributes to building a healthy community for all.

Snow Valley's CIP is accessible to registered not-for-profit and/or charitable organizations in the Greater Edmonton area.

Working with the City of Edmonton through the Winter Strategy Program, Snow Valley is proud to recognize the opportunity we have this Spring to offer lessons to accredited agencies and organizations that work with disadvantaged youth and new Canadians to offer the chance to experience Skiing & Snowboarding at Snow Valley. Snow Valley aims to provide more opportunities for enjoying the outdoors in Winter to celebrate the season and embrace the daily living in the cold Edmonton Climate.

“… I just really would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to you and all your staff, the group of boys that did the five weeks of snowboarding lessons really enjoyed themselves. For the majority of them, this was the very first time that they were able to participate in lessons like this and they all said they had a good time and could see that they were improving.”
